At Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern Nevada (RMHCNN), we know it takes more than walls and beds to make a house feel like home. During National Volunteer Week, we’re shining a light on the extraordinary people who give their time, energy, and love to help us do what we do best: keeping families close.
Whether it’s preparing a warm meal, sprucing up rooms, greeting guests, organizing donations, or helping out at special events, our volunteers are an essential part of our family. They show up not for recognition but because they care deeply about the children receiving medical treatment in our area — and the families standing beside them.
These are parents going through some of the hardest days of their lives, siblings who are navigating uncertainty, and children who need the comfort of knowing their family is right by their side. Every hour our volunteers give, every small act of kindness — it all adds up to a powerful impact.

- Prepare or sponsor a meal for our families through our “Meals from the Heart” program
- Volunteer at special events like the Annual Golf Tournament or the Red Shoe Gala
- Help keep the House in order by lending a hand with cleaning, organizing, or front desk help
- Donate your time or talent: we’re always looking for people with specialized skills like gardening, maintenance, or creative projects
